Adding SalesCart App to WordPress

Add the SalesCart App to WordPress

First, add the SalesCart App to your WordPress account by following the instructions below †.  You will build a WordPress website and it will hold your entire SalesCart Store.

Automatic Installation
Visit your WordPress Site or blog, and click on {Dashboard}
  1. In the WordPress dashboard, click on {Plugins}, and select {Add New}
  2. In the Search Plugins box, type salescart and press the {Enter key} on your keyboard
  3. In the Search results, find the E-commerce by SalesCart plugin and click {Install now} to install it
  4. After the plugin is installed click {Activate Plugin}
Navigate to {SalesCart Store} in the WordPress dashboard admin and follow the instructions provided on the screen
   
Manual Installation
  1. On this page, click on the {Download} button
  2. Save the zip file to any place on your device that you can find later
  3. In the WordPress dashboard, click on {Plugins}, and select {Add New}
  4. Click the {Upload} link, choose the saved zip file from the location you saved it to previously
  5. After the plugin is installed click {Activate Plugin}
Navigate to {SalesCart Store} in the WordPress dashboard admin and follow the instructions provided
     

WordPress-ONLY Store

Follow the rest of the directions if you only want a WordPress webstore and you do NOT want a Facebook store in the future.  If you also want a free Facebook Store, then you need to use Facebook to register and build your Facebook store instead.  Once you have a free SalesCart Facebook Store, instantly add it to WordPress just by adding the short tag [my-salescart-store]  to any WordPress page and WordPress website with the SalesCart WordPress plugin installed.

Register and Create Demo Store

You will be sent an email to validate you are not a bot and to finalize the registration phase of building your store.

In the future, you will go here to administer, and view your store.

  1. Specify your Store Name
  2. Click on the Check Availability button to make sure the name isn't taken.
  3. Next, Enter your email address, and your first name.
  4. Click on the calendar to specify your birth date
  5. Enter the validation code
  6. Press the Verify Email Button

Check your Email for the Verification Email

Note: If you don't get the email, check your spam folder.

You can also resend another email by revisiting this same registration page and entering your store.

Accept License
  1. Click on the Link you receive in your SalesCart Validation Email.
  2. Read the license and to accept it, scroll to the bottom.  Select the

Complete Registration: Final Step
  1. Complete the registration information relative to you and your company and press the Create Store Button.
  2. This is the final step and both your user account and store will be created simultaneously

View your Demo Store
  1. Once you have completed the registration page and revisit the Registration Page, it will provide a link for you to visit your store.
  2. Click on the Visit Cloud Store Link and you will visit the DEMO store you created.
  3. Click on the Administer button to administer and customize your Demo Store.
Log-in
  1.  If you don't see your Registration page.
  2. Just click Log-in if you are logged out.

Add your SalesCart Store ID
  1. In your WordPress wp-admin page, click on SalesCart Store.
  2. Go to Enter Store ID to display: and in the TextBox enter your Store ID number.  Click on the Save Settings Button.

Create a WordPress Page
  1. In your WordPress wp-admin page, click on Pages, then click on Add New Page to create a new WordPress Page.
  2. Type the SalesCart short-tag [my-salescart-store] on the page and press publish, then click on the Preview button to see your store on your website.

Customizing the Demo Store

The next step is to customize the Default Demo Store.   By default, the intial store provided is simply mock-up data for a sandwich shop.  You need to customize this demo category and product data for your own products and your own store.
